01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

One diner’s fond memory of the corn tempura finds a counterpart on the menu in the generously sized corn kakiage fritter. Beer in the batter gives it a crisp coating, served with a rich house soy sauce. It makes an appealing first dish to share around the table—and may have you reaching for another before long.

You can order several dishes to share or choose a set menu that brings a meal together. Options include young chicken wrapped and baked with truffle-butter sauce, yellowfin tuna yukhoe carpaccio and crispy fries. For a finishing dish, there is also a rice ball with shark-fin sauce. One guest who chose a set menu with all-you-can-drink beverages said the portions were generous and satisfying.

For a hearty finish, consider the sea-scented rice cooked in a pot with crab miso. It is cooked to order, allowing the crab aroma to permeate the rice, then served with salmon roe on the side to add after cooking. A group that opted for a set menu reported enjoying roast beef, rice cooked in a pot and dessert, too—an option for gatherings where the meal is meant to run through to the end.

The Japanese-style interior has sunken kotatsu rooms in several sizes, suitable for anything from a small party choosing dishes à la carte to a larger group gathering.
